What then became the Vietnam War spanned a time period from 1955 to 1975 with the fall of Saigon and the South Vietnamese government. The long and bloody conflict started in what was then French Indochina from 1946 to 1954. The Vietnam War ended almost 40 years ago but it is never going to be forgotten by any of the nations involved.
