

The game offers endless experiences by featuring a procedurally generated Dwarven realm of Moria, so no two adventures will be alike, and every expedition is traversable either solo or online with companions. Courageous expeditioners will need to be vigilant as mysterious dangers await. Players will join forces to survive, craft, build and explore the iconic, sprawling mines. Their quest will require fortitude, delving deep into the Mines of Moria to recover its treasures. Summoned to the Misty Mountains by Lord Gimli Lockbearer, players take control of a company of Dwarves tasked to reclaim the lost spoils from the Dwarven homeland of Moria-known as Khazad-dûm or Dwarrowdelf-in the depths below their very feet. Return to Moria is a completely different team though, so we'll have to wait to see how it performs.The story of The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria takes players beyond the books and into the Fourth Age of Middle-earth, the fantastical world created by J.R.R. That said, the IP did recently do something similar with The Lord of the Rings: Gollum without much success. Seeing a game that's taking some risks by exploring a new genre could be fun, even if it is cribbing a bit from something that's already very popular. Those games usually focus on either the fellowship or the many battles that have happened throughout the history of Middle Earth. In any case, Return to Moria isn't the usual type of game we've seen from The Lord of the Rings. As mentioned, we saw quite a bit of the Dwarves building up a new base within Moria to help protect themselves from the evils lurking around every corner, but we also saw some combat.
